BELMONT - Wilbur Lee Dellinger, 87, died Dec. 10, 2013, at Courtland Terrace.

He was born in Cleveland County, son of the late Raymond John and Bruna Lail Dellinger.

He served his country with the US Navy during World War II and the Korean War, as one of the "Greatest Generations ever known".
He gradu-ated from UNC Chapel Hill in 1950. He was a member of Centerview Baptist Church in Belmont.

Wilbur married his sweetheart Helen in 1950 and they celebrate their 63rd anniversary on December 16th.

Wilbur worked in the insurance industry and held various management positions for over 35 years. His favorite past time was spending time with his family. He was known for his humility, courage, and his sense of humor. He loved the ocean and passed that love to his daughters and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Garrison Dellinger; two daughters, Tina Lee Morgan and husband Ed of Charlotte, Paige Cheri Gunter and husband Tim of Suwanee, Georgia; four grandchildren, Kaegan Lee Arrendale, Keelan James Arrendale, Erin Elizabeth
Gunter, and Madison Nicole Gunter.

The funeral service conducted by the Rev. Robbie Moore will be held 11 a.m. Saturday in the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn
Funeral Home in Mount Holly.

Interment with military honors will follow at Gaston Memorial Park in Gastonia.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday.

Memorials may be made to Centerview Baptist Church, 2300 Acme Road, Belmont, NC 28012.

The family would like to extend their love and gratitude to the countless angels at Courtland Terrace who cared for Daddy this past year.
