BELMONT - Alberta J. Pina, 87, died Oct. 14, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born June 8, 1925, in Trenton, N.J., to the late Albert and Edith (Elkington) Tart.
Alberta is survived by her husband of 64 years, Raymond M. Pina Sr. of Belmont, NC; children, Raymond M. Pina Jr. and wife, Dolores of Gastonia, NC; Alan Pina and wife, Millie of Hampton, GA; Bruce Pina and wife, Margaret of Gastonia, Debra Streett and husband, David of Gastonia; 15 grandchil-dren, Aaron, Kristen, Lindy, Kimberly, Kari, Buddy, Abigail, Christopher, Matthew, Stephanie, Alesha, Laura, Michael, Shannon and Lauren; 8 great-grandchildren, Taylor, Brooke, Kyla, Addisyn, Cayden, Natalie, Austin, Sophia; and brother, Albert Tart Jr. of NJ.
A celebration of life service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Carothers Funeral Home in Gastonia. Pastor Jason Gonzalez will officiate.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
A private inurnment will be held at Gaston Memorial Park.
