GASTONIA - Anita Adams, 88, of Clover, S.C., died Jan. 1, 2013, at Alexandria Place, Gastonia, after a brief illness.

She was born Sept. 27, 1924, in Richfield, N.J., lived many years in North Tonawanda, N.Y., but settled much of her life in Napa, Calif.., before moving to Ohio and finally Clover, S.C. to be closer to family.
Anita enjoyed her family, her friends, and membership in the local Lutheran church. She liked bowling, playing cards, visiting family and traveling with friends.
Anita was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Robert, in May 2010. She is survived by her five children; Ronald Adams (Susan), of Napa, Calif., Mark Adams of Napa, Ca/Atlanta, Ga., Christine Wagner (David) of Mount Holly, Robin Connell (Christopher) of Greer, S.C. and Todd Adams (Lori) of Gastonia; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by McLean Funeral Directors, Gastonia.
A small memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Friday at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Gastonia.
