LOWELL - Barbara Autrey Palmer, 75, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 23, 2013 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

She was a native of Cumberland County, born July 15, 1937 to the late Elmer Lennox Autrey and Helen Bowen Ervin. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Richard Lee Palmer.
Barbara was a member of McAdenville Baptist Church and had retired from Gaston Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include her loving daughter Debra Jean Palmer of the home; brothers, Jerry Autrey, Tommy Hulcey, Donald Hulcey and David Hulcey; sisters, Mary A Blackwood and husband Wayne, Faye A Hulcey; special and dear friend, Joe Hamme; and her little dear special dogs, Scooter and Jenny.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at McAdenville Baptist Church with the Rev. Walt Griggs officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park, with the releasing of the doves.
