GREENVILLE, S.C. - Betty Shrum Robinson, 91, formerly of Gastonia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014.

Born Nov. 22, 1922, in Lincolnton, Mrs. Robinson was the daughter of the late Eural Augustus Shrum and Addie McAllister Shrum. A longstanding member of Union Presbyterian Church, Mrs. Robinson retired from Burlington Industries after many years of faithful service.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Robinson was preceded in death by her husband, David Anderson "Dave" Robinson, and daughters, Janet M. Robinson and Joyce Ann Robinson Mayfield.
Mrs. Robinson is survived by her grandchildren and their spouses, M. Allen Robinson (Adina) of Simpsonville, S.C., Kathy Kelly Thompson (John) of Bellingham, Wash., Kimberly Robinson Barron of Fountain Inn, S.C., and David C. Kelly of Clover, S.C.; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Bill Mayfield of Simpsonville, S.C.
Family and friends of Mrs. Robinson are invited to attend her visitation beginning at 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Monday at Union Presbyterian Church with her funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. from the graveside in the Union Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Rev. James Holeman will officiate.
