BELMONT - As the sun rose on the morning of Feb. 18, 2013, Betty Jean Teague passed away peacefully at Peak Resources in Gastonia.

She was born Sept. 20, 1932, in Catawba County, to the late Arthur and Nina Shook Teague.

She was preceded in death by a brother Arris Teague, sister Frances Saparillas, and niece Tina Brown. Betty re-tired from First Union National Bank. She loved to shop and travel, especially to her house she owned in North Myrtle Beach for 50 years. She will be missed for her wit and sense of humor, her laugh and independent nature.

Survivors include nieces; Rhonda Tadlock and husband Randall, Amy Jackson and husband Greg, Abigail Lancaster and husband Joshua, Kristen Tadlock; nephews; Tim Teague, George Brown, Ryan Tadlock, Matt Tadlock, "Adopted" daughter Kim Lail, her husband Charlie and children Misty and Joseph. She is also survived by 6 great great nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate her life will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home officiated by Pastor Randy Wall.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials are made to Gaston Hospice, PO Box 3984 Gastonia, NC 28054.

Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly is serving the family.
