TROY -Blanche McMillen McIntosh, 96, formerly of Gastonia, passed away Nov. 29, 2013 at Sandy Ridge Assisted Living Center.
She was a native of Copperhill, TN; born June 23, 1917, to the late Ralph and Maggie Walker McMillen; she was preceded in death by brothers, Roy, Willis, Elmer, Hoyt and Olen McMillen; sisters, Beulah Brendle, Alma M. McIntosh, Julia M. Russell; also preceded by her twin children, Edward Ray and Betty Faye McIntosh;
She was retired from Firestone Textiles in Gastonia; was a member for 72 years of Temple Baptist Church in Gastonia; she loved her church and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ;
Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy McIntosh of Troy; son, Marshall McIntosh of Melbourne, Australia; Grandchildren- Haley, Emily, Max, Otis and Ellie McIntosh; Great-grandchild- Sheridan McIntosh.
A service to celebrate her life will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church. Burial will follow in Armstrong Cemetery.
