GASTONIA - Bobbie Faye Goodwin, 79, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Jan. 30, 2013, at Alexandria Place.

She was a native of Gaston County, born Aug. 23, 1933, to the late Arthur Franklin and Pauline Stewart Goodwin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Benjamin David Smith, brothers Charles Richard "Lefty" Goodwin Sr. and Edgar Eugene Goodwin Sr. sister, Betty Goodwin Grindstaff.
Bobbie worked at the Smyre Mill and Pharr Yarns for many years before retiring and attended Bethlehem Church.
Survivors include her sister, Mary Ann Goodwin and a sister-in-law Ann Beckham of Clover, S.C.; several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Bethlehem Church, North Campus (behind CarMax) with the Revs. Dickie Spargo and Dale Lawing officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be her nephews.
