GASTONIA - Bobby Gene "The Plumber" Black, 77, of 1770 Oak Hollow Road, went to be with his Heavenly Father on April 29, 2012, at the Alexan-dria Place.

He was a native of Gaston County, born Dec. 5, 1934, to the late Obie and Ina Coleman Black.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jeanette Griffin Black who died Nov. 29, 1999; his sons, Richard Perry Black and Bobby Gene Black, Jr.
He was survived by his children, Anderson Black and wife Devra of Gastonia; Scott DeWayne Black of Liberty, NC, Sherry Black Turner and husband Gary of Liberty; brothers, G.L. Black, Paul Black and Randy Black; Sister Annie Sue Hall and husband Mike; six grandchildren, Shannon, Jason, Angel, Joshua, Amber and Scotty and 15 great-grandchildren; special nephew, Patrick Hall and wife Cindy.
A celebration of life service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Haney officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service.
Inurnment will be private.
