Bryan Dellinger, 61, of Drexel, died Thursday, July 5, 2012, at Burke Palliative Care Center of complications from multiple sclerosis. He was born in Burke County on June 1, 1951, and was the son of the late Floyd Hugh Dellinger and Vera June Craft Dellinger.
Bryan was a graduate of Drexel High School and was captain of the football team. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying trout fishing, and was a member of the Ridge Runners Deer Club. He was of the Baptist faith.
Bryan is survived by his wife, Lillian Marie Warren Dellinger of the home; sons, Wes Dellinger and wife, Dawn of The Woodlands, Texas and Scott D. Dellinger of Charlotte; grandchildren, Madelyn and Caroline Dellinger; stepchildren, Tim R. Watt and wife, Paula, of Morganton, and Tonya Marie Wyatt of Valdese; sisters, Brenda Dellinger of Morganton and Connie Jones and husband, Bob, of Drexel; stepgrandchildren, Nick Adrian, Cody Wyatt, Richard Wyatt, James Wyatt, Jennifer Wyatt, Rosianna Hull, Kimberlin Hull and Logan Hull; and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2012, in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends one hour before the services.
Private graveside services will be held at Burke Memorial Park.
