Carlos Dameron Obituary

BESSEMER CITY - Carlos Lee Dameron, 91, died May 30, 2010, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
He was born in ¬¬¬¬Gaston County on June 26, 1918, to the late John Thomas and Sarah Mamie Stroup Dameron.
He was retired from Threads Inc. in Gastonia and was a member of the company bowling team. He was a longtime active member of Grace Lu-theran Church and also was a volunteer, along with his brother Luther, at Meals-on-Wheels for many years.
His hobbies were reading, gardening and fishing. Carlos Lee was an Army veteran of World War II and served in the final USA Cavalry Division.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 2 p.m.Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church, Bessemer City
VISITATION: One hour prior to the service at the church
INTERMENT: Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery, Bessemer City
SURVIVORS: Sons, Thomas Dameron and wife Suzanne of Lincolnton, Frank Dameron and wife Julia of Knoxville, Tenn.; two grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Janie Rowe Dameron Valentine of Shelby
OFFICIATING: Revs. Elizabeth Toler and Jerry Millwood
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: His loving wife of 63 years, Mable Marjorie Splawn Dameron, who died March 14, 2010; son, Carlos Lamont Dameron; brothers, Madison Ray Dameron, William Luther Dameron, Thomas Robert Dameron, John Frank Dameron
