GASTONIA - Chad Allen Clayton, 44, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Upstate Carolina Medical Center in Gaffney, S.C.
He was born Sept. 20, 1967 in Greenville, S.C., the son of Norma Haney Clayton and the late Allen Clayton. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
Chad is survived by his wife of 19 years, Crystal S. Clayton of the home; son, Eric Clayton of Cramerton; daughters, Ashley, Sarah, Emily and Stephanie Clayton, and Angelia Badger, all of Gastonia; brother, Chuck Clayton and wife, Deidra of Blacksburg, S.C.; sister, Buffy Clayton Barber of Mount Holly; good friends, Philip Sergeant and Barry Stamey; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York. Road, Gastonia, with Pastor Ralph Dale officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday.
Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
