STANLEY - Charles Glenn Groner, 74, of 508 George Mac Lane, died June 20, 2012, at his home.
He was born in Gaston County, son of the late Charles Robert Groner and Frances Iolene McIntosh Groner.
He was preceded in death by a brother, George Russell Groner.
He was a member of Mount Holly Masonic Lodge #544 and a member of the National Rifle Association. He was a Veteran of the Air National Guard.
He is survived by his wife Virginia Hunsucker Groner; one daughter, Cathie Groner and her fiancé Brian Perry; one granddaughter, Nicole Harris; two brothers, James Robert Groner and his wife Emily of Asheville and Richard Steven Groner and his wife Sallie of
Pinehurst; one sister, Janet Groner Arm-strong and her husband Bobby of Lowesville.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mr. Groner will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Hill's Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Val Rosen-quist and Pastor Derrick Dellinger officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
