BELMONT - Edna Mae Ludlum Ballard, 84, passed away Dec. 27, 2012, at Gaston Memorial Hospital.

A native of Gaston County, she was a daughter of the late James Rockwell Ludlum and Evie Cannady Ludlum.
Edna was a member of South Point Baptist Church and will be remembered for her kind and generous spirit. She loved spending time with family and friends and going to the beach.
She is survived by her son, Marvin K. "Chuck" Ballard III and fiancée Helen Holler; grandson, James Arthur Ballard; former daughter-in-law Susan Ballard and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin K. Ballard Jr. and sister, Ellen L. Wilson.
The family will receive friends from 10 until 11:45 a.m. Monday at South Point Baptist Church.
A funeral service, officiated by Dr. James C. Hilton, will follow at noon.
Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
