LINCOLNTON - Edward Alfred Schronce, 76, of 888 Leaf Lane, died April 13, 2012.
His funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at River View Baptist Church.
The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Warlick Funeral home.
Mr. Schronce was born July 5, 1935, in Lincoln County, to the late Boyd C. and Edna Carpenter Schronce.
In addition, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert C. Schronce.
Mr. Schronce was retired from the United States Marine Corps where he served during the Vietnam War and then later worked as a shipping supervi-sor in the furniture industry.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, JoAnn Cunningham Schronce of the home; two godchildren, Kelley Cranford of Emerald Isle and Sonia Gantt of Cherryville; one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Schronce of Pulaski, VA; one nephew, Mark Schronce and wife Sandy of Pulaski, VA; one great-niece, Amanda Cole and husband Patrick of Myrtle Beach, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
