She was a homemaker and community volunteer, a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader, and eventually became a professional Girl Scout. She was a master bridge player and loved to play golf, making a hole in one in her 70's. Most of all Betty was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Betty was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 60 years, Joseph "Joe" Bartlett and her brother, James Francis Newell, of Houston, Texas.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Elizabeth "Jean" (Bartlett) Faulk and husband Billy J. of Gastonia and her son, Joseph K. Bartlett, Jr. and wife Kanjanaporn of Nongprue, Thailand. Grandchildren Joe Faulk and wife Maria of Gastonia, Bill Faulk and wife Summer of Belmont, Patty Mac Donald and husband Gary of Tacoma, Washington, Jean Bartlett of Charlotte and Joe Bartlett III and wife Melissa of Orlando, Florida. Betty leaves behind five great-grandchildren.
Betty will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband at Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta, Georgia. The family plans a private service.
The family wishes to express a heart felt thanks to the ladies and gentlemen of the Covenant Village Woodland Wing staff who took such good and kind care of her.
