CLOVER, S.C. - Estelle Alledo Withers, 87, of 1873 Highway 321 North, passed away Feb. 3, 2013, at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill, S.C.

Born in Bowling Green, S.C., on July 15, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Sarah Jane Murphy Withers and Miles Luther Withers.

In addition to her parents, Miss Withers was predeceased by sisters: Hazel Lee Withers, Ida Mae Withers Par-rish (Rob), and Mary Helen Withers Stanton (Tom); brothers: James Franklin Withers (Isabel), and Lawrence Edward Withers (Frances); nephews: Luther Earl Stanton, Gerald "Catfish" Adams, Mike Parrish and Gordon McDonald, Jr.; nieces: Barbara Cloninger Parrish and Wanda Wallace Parrish.

A celebration of Miss Withers' life will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bowling Green Presbyterian Church in Bowling Green, S.C., with the Rev. James Gable officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will follow at the church. The family will receive friends at other times at 1886 St. Paul Church Road in Clover.

Miss Withers is survived by the following nieces and nephews: Anne Stanton Adams, Fred Stanton (Diane), Sylvia Stanton Bowman (Lonnie), Kay Tolbert Stanton, Bill Stanton (Beth), Steve Stanton (Phyllis), Margaret Stanton Boyd (Robbie), Beth Withers Landfair (Bill), Carolyn Withers Pate (Bill), Susan Withers Jackson (Ed), Clementine Withers Bryant (Jeff), Bob Parrish, Gayle Parrish Morrow, Ed Parrish (Sandra), and Randy Parrish (Jerri ). She is also survived by 44 great nieces and nephews and 38 great-great nieces and nephews, as well as a multitude of cousins and friends, all of whom she "loved dearly."

Miss Withers lived in Bowling Green all her life and was a lifelong member of Bowling Green Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the church choir, participated in women's circles, served on many committees, taught Sunday School and Bible School, and helped to prepare meals. She attended Bible studies at her church, at Bethelwoods, and at Montreat. Music was an important part of her life, and she received great joy by sharing her beautiful voice and witnessing her strong faith with others when volunteering at nursing homes and visiting with family and friends.

A graduate of Clover High School in 1942, her earliest education was in a small school on the Bowling Green Mill Village. She enjoyed traveling extensively with her relatives and friends and was always "ready to go." Her earliest employment was at Bowling Green Spinning Mill, and she retired from Matthew Belk in Gastonia after 30 plus years of service.
