BESSEMER CITY - Ethel Poteat Mack, 95, of Bessemer City, passed away April 20, 2012, at Gaston Memorial Hospital.
She was born Jan. 22, 1917, in Cleveland County to the late Samuel Justice and Helena Hope Devine Poteat.
Ethel was a lifelong member of Bessemer City Church of God. She taught the Ladies' Sunday school class for many years and was a member of the la-dies' "Willing Workers." Ethel was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She passed her faith in God down through five generations.
Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at Bessemer City Church of God with the Rev. Harold Ashe and the Rev. Ronnie Pendleton officiating.
Interment will follow at Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday, April 23, 2012, at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home, Bessemer City.
She is survived by her sons, Robert Mack and wife, Maria (Mott), of Dallas, Michael Mack and wife, Nancy, of Chester, S.C.; daughters, Yvonne Mack of the home, Janice Pendleton and husband, Johnny, of Dallas, Susan Pendleton and husband, Jerry, of Bessemer City, and Donna Peck and husband, Mark, of Gastonia; 22 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack D. Mack; son, J.D. Mack; infant daughter, Naomi Faye Mack; daughters, Doris Inman and Anita Car-penter; and two grandchildren.
