MURRELLS INLET, S.C. - Gary Robinson, 68, died June 20, 2012, after a 5 year battle with Lung Cancer at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.
Born in Gastonia, NC, he was a son of the late John and Artie Lee Robinson. Mr. Robinson was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He worked in various Textile Mills for 30 years. He was the retired owner of Innovative Textile Sales and Service. He was a member of the Elks, Moose Lodge, the American Legion and Belin Memorial United Methodist Church. Mr. Robinson coached for 20 years various youth sports in Belmont, NC and was a member of South Point Life Saving Crew for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Hilda Robinson of Murrells Inlet; two sons, Robbie (Tara) Robinson of Panama City, FL and Terry (Angie) Robinson of Belmont, NC; two daughters, Melinda Robinson of Belmont, NC and Beth Mumaw of Converse, TX; twenty two grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two step-sons, Charles (Nancy) McAllister of Surfside Beach and Bob McAllister of Goldsboro, NC; two step-daughters, Sandi Wheeler of Newton Grove, NC and Linda Ervin of Goldsboro, NC; three brothers, James (Chris) Robinson of Crowders Mountain, NC, Tommy (Shirley) Robin-son of Charlotte, NC and Rick Robinson of Belmont, NC; two sisters, Joyce (Ronn) Banks of Charlotte, NC and Dot Hensley of Gastonia, NC.
A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday at Belin Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. B. Mike Alexander Jr. and the Rev. Tom Chidester officiating.
