CLOVER, S.C. - George "Mule" Enlow Jr., 85 passed away on October 19, 2012 at his home.
He was born in Gaston County on Aug. 14, 1927, to the late Myra Hill and Doc Brandon.
In addition to his parents, his wife Billie Faye Cathey-Enlow preceded him in death.
He attended public school in Gaston County. He was employed by Firestone Mill for over 47 years, also after retirement George had many riders whom he provided transportation to and from work. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Lowell, NC. George made many friends over his life. He had daily reservations at Tony's Ice Cream Restaurant, where he went daily for breakfast. He was devoted to caring for his wife Mrs. Dorcas and he was faithful to seeing about her to the end of his life.
George leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife of ten years Mrs. Dorcas Enlow who fondly referred to him as "Babe;" two daughters, Yolanda Enlow (Kenneth) of Gastonia, Ann Curry (Ralph) of Charlotte; twin sons, George Alfred Enlow (Nichelle) of Tacoma, Wash., Bishop George Albert Enlow (Crystal) of Lincolnton; eight grandchildren, Yovonda Burris-Borner (Ryan) of Lowell, Kendall Williamson of Gastonia, Etonia and Anaya Curry of Char-lotte, Makela, and Brianna Enlow of Tacoma, Wash., Jillian, and Jonathan Enlow of Lincolnton, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held noon Saturday at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, 120 Branch Street, Lowell, NC 28098.
Visitation will be one hour before the service and at other times and the home of Yolanda Williamson, 233 King David Lane, Gastonia, NC 28056.
Burial will be at Gaston Memorial Park.
Costner Funeral Home is serving the Enlow family.
