GREENVILLE, S.C. - George Nicholas Trakas, 67, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014, at his home.
A native of Gaston County, he was the son of the late Nicholas George and Mary J. Lovette Trakas.
George was a member of Holy Communion Lutheran Church in Dallas and was an avid NASCAR fan. He will be greatly missed by his daughter and son-in-law, Maria and Shane Alfonse of Gaffney, S.C.; brother, Randy S. Trakas and wife, Elaine Thomas Trakus of Maryland; and cousin, Betty Wyatt and family of Greenville, S.C.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Blair Ann Trakas Dover.
The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Holy Communion Lutheran Church in Dallas. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m., with Pastor David Drysdale officiating.
Burial with military honors by the Gaston County Honor Guard will be at Hollywood Cemetery.
