CHARLOTTE - Guynell Southard Rayfield, 72, passed away May 27, 2012, at Carolinas Medical Center – University, Char-lotte.
She was born May 3, 1940, in Gaston County, daughter of Hattie Woodard Southard and the late Guy Samuel Southard.
A graveside service will be held 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia, officiated by Minister Samantha McKinney.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Road, Gas-tonia, NC 28052.
She is survived by her son, Jerry Steve Rayfield Jr. and friend Lisa Thomas; her mother; brother, Jack Southard and wife Joyce; sisters, Verna Shaw and husband John, Joyce Gardner and husband Joe; grandchild, Samuel Rayfield; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father she is preceded in death by: her brothers, Jerry Southard, David Southard.
Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
