GASTONIA - Helen Louise Lovelace Davis, 91, heard the Lord Whisper her name on June 7, 2012. She peacefully drifted into a glorious eternal life.

Helen was an excellent cook, and often made dinners and wonderful desserts for her large family. Helen loved listening to gospel music, memorizing the lyrics to every song.

Helen had an unwavering faith in God and attended Mt. View Agape Church. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She worked at various fac-tories throughout her lifetime, including Pharr Yarns and Burlington. In the later years, she worked at Davis Ink Jet & Toner in Lowell and Gastonia.

Helen was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Davis. Also preceding her in death were her parents Lillie and North Lovelace, a brother "Buddy" Lovelace, and three sons, Bobby Davis, Sr. of Gastonia, Gene Davis of Ranlo, and Luther Davis, Sr. of Gastonia.

Helen is survived by her children, Brenda Stafford and husband James of Dallas, Kay Davis of Gastonia, Ronnie Davis and wife Karen of Gastonia, Roger Davis of Gastonia, Larry Davis of Dallas, Harry Davis and wife Anita of Belmont. Helen also is survived by 34 grandchildren, 81 great grandchil-dren, and 55 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Mt. View Agape Church with Pastors, Harry Davis, Ray Dinkle and Clarence Aldridge officiating.

Interment will be in Hollywood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday at McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia.

The family would like to express their greatest appreciation to Dr. Digby and staff who cared for Helen for many years. We also are thankful for Shan-non Muse, her nurse and Glinda Mabe, her aid, you both made her smile each and every day.
