BELMONT - Helen Virginia Queen Neagle, 100, passed away June 9, 2018 at Carolinas Medical Center-Pineville.

She was born March 26, 1918 in Pacolet, SC, a daughter of the late Vernon William and Maggie Mae Martin Queen.

Helen was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved God, family, and her church. She was a member of South Point United Methodist Church with 75 years of perfect attendance where she taught Sunday School. She served over 50 years over the Children's Department at church and started Kids-In and The Sock and Mitten Tree. Helen was a nurse technician and worked in the nursery of Mercy hospital for 30 years. She was the best cook and was known for her chocolate cake. She lived her life saying "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" and always told people they needed "to go to the prayer room."

Survivors of Helen include her children, Tina Walser and husband, Don of Lake Wylie, and Don Neagle and wife, Connie of Belmont; brother, Wilburm Thomas Queen of Cramerton; sister, Barbara Queen Starnes of Clemmons; grandchildren, Jeff Neagle and wife, Michelle, Susan White, David Neagle, Mark Neagle, Brian Neagle, Wendy Walser Brant and husband, Bert, Julie Walser, Gray Walser, Laura Digh Rogers, and Myra Grant; 13 great-grandchildren; many special nieces and nephews; and special family friend, Basil Marett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, William "Dub" Alexander Neagle; brothers, Rev. Ellard Odell Queen, Waddell Queen, and Vernon William Queen, Jr.; sister, Frances Queen Edwards; sons, Joe Arnold Neagle and Ted William Neagle; and grandson, Steven Neagle. The family will receive friends at South Point United Methodist Church from 1 until 3 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2018.

A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2018 at South Point United Methodist Church with Pastors Erin Yow and Ken Curtis officiating. Committal will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to South Point United Methodist Church Children's Department, 510 South Point Church Road, Belmont, NC 28012.
