GASTONIA - Irene W. Johnson, 90, of Gastonia, passed away Friday, June 15, 2012, at The Robin Johnson House, Dallas.
She was born April 8, 1922, in Ducktown, Tenn., daughter of the late Gertrude Simonds Weaver.
Irene was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend, who loved her family dearly and loved the Lord.
She lived her life to the fullest and enjoyed every moment.In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Johnson; four brothers; two sisters; three stepsons; and two stepdaughters.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her son, Harvey Warlick of Gastonia; stepdaughter, Naomi Mauldin of Gastonia; brothers, Elmer Weaver of Gastonia and Arvil Weaver of Cahudta, Ga.; sister, Pauline Dockery of Gastonia; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside and interment service will be held 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Evergreen Cemetery, Belmont, officiated by the Rev. Earl Stanley.
The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Sunday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Road, Gastonia.
