GASTONIA - James W. Worley Jr., 88, a resident of Gaston Place, passed away Dec. 28, 2012, at Gaston Memorial Hospital.

He was a native of Murphy, son of the late James and Lola Allen Worley Sr.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Woods Worley in 2011.
James was a retired crane operator; member of Charity Baptist Church; a 32nd degree Mason and member of the Scottish Rites.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and James Brennan of Saratoga, Calif., Gayla and John Bradley of Terrapin Springs, Fla., sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Paula Worley of Waxhaw, James Danny and Vicki Worley of Dallas; brother, Delbert Kenen Worley of Woodruff, S.C.; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
A service to celebrate his life will be 1 p.m. Monday at Charity Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. Sam Robbins and Lee Ayers.
The family will receive friends one hour before service at the church.
Burial will follow in Gaston Memorial Park, Masonic Section.
