GASTONIA - Jamie R. Barrett, 40, passed away June 12, 2012, at the Robin Johnson Hospice House, Dallas.
He was born Oct. 30, 1971, in Orlando, Fla., son of Kenneth Eugene Barrett and the late Norma Iris Oates.
Mr. Barrett was a member of Landmark Baptist Church, Gastonia. He loved to sing gospel music and had been with the group
Higher Ground for over 10 years. He loved to play the drums to honor the glory of God. Jamie loved his family and his church family.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Landmark Baptist Church, 311 Archie Whitesides Road, Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. Forrest Hennessee.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, Gastonia.
Interment will be at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City.
Mr. Barrett is survived by: his loving wife of over 16 years, Erin Crump Barrett; sons, Kevin and Justin Barrett; brother, Bubba Barrett; sister, Geneva Guerrero and husband Luis; niece, Kieran Guerrero.
