STANLEY - Janet McHan Lewis, 90, of Stanley, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Stanley Total Living Center, Stanley, with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Bryson City and was the daughter of the late Dallas and Dora Camby McHan.
Mrs. Lewis retired from Smyre Manufacturing Company. She attended Way of the Cross Church, Mount Holly.
Mrs. Lewis is survived by one daughter, Hilda Gibson, and husband, Scott, of Stanley; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday at Carothers Funeral Home, Stanley with the funeral service to follow at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Carothers Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Meeks officiating.
Interment will follow at Hillcrest Gardens, Mount Holly.
Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 73 years, Boyd Lewis; two sons, Jerry Lewis and Johnny Lewis; five sisters, Hattie Queen, Thelma Whitworth, Pauline Buchanan, Janie Smith, Ruby McAbee; one brother, Claude McHan.
