SHELBY - John Edward Evans, 74, of 1706 Country Garden Drive, passed away May 24, 2012, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
A native of Bluefield, W. Va., he was born Dec. 23, 1937, son of the late Richard Warren and Mary Jarrell Evans.
A funeral service will be held 5 p.m. Sunday at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Shelby Chapel.
The family will receive friends 3:30 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Shelby.
Burial will immediately follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Earl.
Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Shelby is in charge of arrangements.
