GASTONIA - John "Jack" Charles Olive, 81, died peacefully at home on Dec. 18, 2013.

A native of Gladstone, Mich., he was son of the late Harry Dale Olive, Sr. and Virginia Fisher Olive.
Jack was a US Navy Veteran and retired from CaroMont Cancer Center. He was an active member of East Garrison Baptist Church.
A funeral service will be held 5 p.m. Sunday at McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia Founders Chapel with the Revs. Charles Ledford and Jack Fleming officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Williamson and members of Jack's Sunday School Class.
The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
A graveside service will be held noon Monday at Gaston Memorial Park with full military rites by The Gaston County Honor Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Hilda Arrowood Morgan Olive; sons and daughters in law, Keith and Beth Olive of Phoenix, Arizona, Leonard and Stephania Morgan of Dallas; daughter, Karen Johnson of Iron Mountain, Michigan; grandchildren, Faith, Jacey, Lucas, Nicole, Matthew and Monica, Laurie and Alex, Mandy and Andy, Wesley, Joshua and Nicole; great grandchildren, Brylee, Brody, Andrew, Kenley, Caroline, Morgan and Tatum.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Delores Olive; brother, Harry, and sister, Paula; son, Ray
Wayne Morgan; daughters, Kelly Morgan, Robin Overcash and Stevette Mathis.
