MOUNT HOLLY - JoAnn Pope Morris, 71, of 353 Lanier Ave., died Saturday, June 30, 2012.
She was born in Catawba County, the daughter of Rose Ella Penley Pope of Gastonia and the late Charles Ernest Pope Sr.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Christenbury; and a brother, Charles Ernest Pope Jr. She was a member of CORE Church in Mount Holly.
She is survived by her husband, Clay Beaty Morris; one son, Ricky Clay Morris of Mount Holly; three daughters, Vicky M. Dixon of Mount Holly, Teena M. Murphy and husband Jim of Mount Holly, and Heather M. Wyatt and husband James of Mount Holly; one sister, Rhonda Curlee of Charlotte; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Morris will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at The Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim McCarn officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
