CROUSE - Kenneth Robert "Curley" Brackett, 56, passed away Aug. 22, 2014, at the Robin Johnson Hospice House in Dallas.

Kenneth was born in Lincoln County on Oct. 8, 1957, on of the late Robert "Bob" Brackett and Ruth Rudisill Brackett.

He was employed by American Tire Distributors previously known as Heafner Tire for 38 years and al-so had his own business,
Ken's Lawn Service. He was a member of Lebanon United Methodist Church in Maiden and was retired from Crouse Volunteer Fire Department and served on the Board of Directors. Kenneth was an avid
motorcycle rider and rode with many groups.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Teresa "Terri" Abernethy Brackett of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Crystal Brackett McWhirter and husband Mark McWhirter of Shelby; a grandson, Mark "Lu-cas" McWhirter of Shelby; a brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Gail Brackett of Crouse; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jeff and Sandy Huss; a late brother-in-law, Herbert Abernethy and sister-in-law, Debra; a special daughter, Tammy Campbell; a special brother and sister and family, Mike and Libby Helms, Dustin, Sarah, NoraLee and Heather Helms; Other special family members, Janice and Gene Frye, Phil and Lisa Mauney, Phil and Lisa Goins, Taylor Griffin, Steve "Hoppy" Hopkins and Rita Sellers Hopkins, Mitch and Lisa Bumgardner, Amy Beam Mayes,
David and Courtney Burch Jones, Betty and Gary Huss, Jeff and Tona Brackett, and also his special nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Sunday at Lebanon United Methodist Church in Maiden with the Revs. Gary Fulker, Steve Hopkins and Mr. Phil Goins officiating.

Burial will be private.
