BELMONT - Norma "Laura" Barnes Rhyne, 71, died June 17, 2012, at home.
A native of Rutherfordton, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin & Gladys Griffin Barnes.
She was owner of Rein Apartments and was a loving mother and homemaker.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Gaston Memorial Park, Mausoleum B with the Rev. Joe Lawing officiating.
Interment will be in the cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the home of Mrs. Rhyne.
Survivors include her daughter, Darlene Rhyne Cobb of Belmont, son and daughter in law, Joel & Rhonda Rhyne of Belmont; brother & sister in law, Frank & Maureen Barnes of Alabama; sisters & brothers in law, Lorraine & Z.B. Lancaster of Gastonia, Hilda & Harold Crawford of Charlotte & Helen Clemments of Stanley; grandchildren, Brandon Cobb & his wife, Nikki, & Matthew McElveen; numerous nieces & nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Joe Reid Rhyne, sisters, Maxine Groves & Frances Crawford.
