LINCOLNTON - Lena Newton Caldwell, 44, of 107 Lansdale Avenue, died Sunday, June 16, 2013.
She was born in McDowell County, the daughter of the late David Newton.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Franklin Caldwell Jr.; mother and stepfather, Larry and Christine Shirlen Smith; a daughter, Christon Newton of Lincolnton; two stepsons, Thomas Andrew Caldwell of Charlotte and Jeremy Adam Caldwell of Mount Holly; two sisters, Angel Stacks and husband James of Stanley, and Sharon Hudy and husband Chris of Germantown, Md.; and one brother, Wayne Newton of Morganton.
She was a member of Anthony Grove Baptist Church in Cherryville.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Caldwell will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly with the Rev. Jimmy Shirlen officiating.
Burial will follow at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
