MINT HILL - Linda Brown Horton, 66, passed away Sept. 1, 2013, at Novant Health Presbyterian Hospital in the Harris Hospice Unit.

Mrs. Horton was born Monday, 26th of May, 1947, in Charlotte, NC to Lillie Baker Brown and the late Oscar Daniel Brown. She had worked in the Charlotte- Mecklenburg Public School system for thirty years before retiring. Linda was a member of Philadelphia Presbyterian Church.

A service to celebrate the life of Linda Horton will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, the 7th of September from the sanctuary of Philadelphia Presbyte-rian Church, 11501 Bain School Rd, Mint Hill, NC. The family will greet friends immediately following the service in the Narthex.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother and daughter Linda is survived by her husband of 45 years, Steve Horton of Mint Hill, NC; daughter, Dr. Marnie Gallagher and husband, Dr. Dave Gallagher and their children; Jake and Ella of Mint Hill, NC and son, Jason Horton and wife, Dr. Janet Horton and their children: Anna, Ben and Eli all of Durham, NC; her mother, Mrs. Lillie Baker Brown Sherrill of Mint Hill, NC and a brother, War-ren "Benny" Brown.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donor's choosing.
