GASTONIA - Mark Edward Monroe, 56, passed away peacefully on Friday, Aug. 30, 2013.

Born in Daytona Beach, Fla., Mark was the son of the late James Edward Monroe and Dorothy Mae Burris Monroe. Mark was a 37 year employee of R.A. Serafini, Inc. where he was Plant Foreman. He was also a retired member of the Windjammers in Shelby.
Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Marie Monroe of Gastonia; sister and brother-in-law, Terri Monroe Serafini and Bradley Serafini of Clover, SC; nieces and nephews, Shanda Serafini, Robbie Serafini, Jennifer Monroe Morrison, Phil Serafini, Jeremy Monroe and Jessica Monroe Butler; numerous great-nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at McLean Funeral Directors from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013.
