BESSEMER CITY - Martha Lewis Clark, 88, went on her final journey to join her family and Lord in Heaven on Tuesday, July 3, 2012.
She was a native of Gaston County and the daughter of the late James and Margaret Lineberger Lewis.
Martha was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Lincolnton, where she loved to sing in the choir, teach Sunday school, was a member of the women of the church and served on the church council. Martha retired from AB Carter after twenty years of service. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter and sister.
The family would like to thank Dr. Melissa Matulis, Dr. Shawyna Gore, and all the staff of the Robin Johnson House for their wonderful care.
A funeral service will be held at noon Friday at Bethel Lutheran Church with Pastors Steven King and Elizabeth Toler officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the church.
She is survived by her sons and daughters in-law, Bill and Susie Clark of Forest, Va., Ron and Sandy Clark of Knightdale, Steve and Delana Clark of Gastonia; daughter and son in-law; Cynthia and Jack Harrelson of Bessemer City; sisters, Lillian Chronister and Ruth Edwards of Stanley; sister in-law, Sara Lewis of Mount Holly; grandchildren, Ronnie Clark, Mark Clark and wife Kelly, Jimmy Clark, Bryan Clark and wife Jennifer, Brent Clark and wife Chris, Mary O'Shea and husband Patrick, Jason Richbourg, Katie Clark, Hannah Rodriques and husband Manny, Jason Harrelson and wife Kellie, great-grandchildren, Reagan, Gracyn, Brendan, Marlee, Joseph, William and Hunter Clark, Caitlyn, Jordan and Ashton Harrelson.
Martha was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Lester Clark; great-granddaughter, Brittney Sage Clark; her beloved siblings, six broth-ers and three sisters.
Memorials may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church Building Fund, 509 Long Shoals Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
