STANLEY - Mary Frances Capps McGinnis, 94, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2013, at Stanley Total Living Center.

A native of Gaston County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Franklin and Annie Hudspeth Capps, wife of the late Albert A. McGinnis Sr.
Mary was a long-time member of Bethesda United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed cooking and sewing and loved her family dearly. She was most proud of having seen five living generations. Mary will be greatly missed by her children Jane M. Stowe of Belmont, Mary M. Hastings of Smyrna, GA; son Albert "Bud" A. McGinnis Jr. of Lincolnton; sisters Mattie Lee C. Teague of Mobile, AL, Pamela C. Curtis of Cornelius; grandchildren Lisa Stowe of Stanley, Charles Stowe Jr. of Belmont, Tracy (Dennis) Lester of Iron Station, Bonnie (Craig) Hast-ings Haun of GA, Scott Hastings of Georgia; 11 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Polly C. Allen.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at McLean Funeral Directors, Belmont.
Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. in the Bumgardner Chapel with Chaplain Ivan Davis officiating.
Burial will be in Bethesda United Methodist Church Cemetery.
