GASTONIA - Mattie J. Barnett passed away peacefully on March 26.

Born in Towns County, Ga., she was the daughter of the late John W. Daniels and Vallie Caldwell Daniels.

Mrs. Barnett was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church of Gastonia where she was an active member of the Love
Sunday school class. She was a former member of the Gastonia Women's Club and the Gaston Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Barnett was preceded in death by her husband, Billy B. Barnett and sisters, Ola Gibson, Hazel Johnson and Nell Nichols.

Mrs. Barnett is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Steve Dellinger of Lincolnton; grandchildren, Renee Taylor and Michael Taylor; brother, Tommy Daniels of Young Harris, Ga..; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Roy Nicholson of Cohutta, Ga.; sister-in-law, Joann Greene of Charleston, S.C.; numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation beginning 1 p.m. Thursday at McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia with the funeral ser-vice to follow at 2 p.m. in Founders Chapel. Dr. Ray Ammons and Rev. Andy Royals will officiate.

Burial will be at Gaston Memorial Park.
