BELMONT - Nora Adcock Merrill, 78, passed away Friday, Oct. 12 peacefully at home.

She was born in Durham, to the late Melvin and Maggie Baker Adcock.
Nora was a homemaker and member of Flint Groves Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Gary E. Merrill; son, Robert Scott Merrill; daughter, Kathy M. Lynch and husband, Steve; grandchildren, Jennifer Jackson, Stephen E. Lynch; great-grandchildren, Nora and Gracie Hulsey, Sara and Mary Yarborough; and special friends, Jack and Celia Bush, Jesse and Katrina Yarborough and Ed Jackson.
The family will receive friends Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia. The funeral will follow the visitation at 1 p.m. in the Founders Chapel of McLean Funeral Directors with the Rev. Ronnie Bowers, the Rev. Larry Bradley and the Rev. Chris Howell offi-ciating. Interment will be in Gaston Memorial Park.
