DALLAS - Paul A. Blankenship, 86, of 219 Florham Drive, died May 11, 2013.

He was born in Swain County, son of the late Andrew Jack and Maude Rowland Blankenship.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Green Blankenship; two sons, Tommy and Paul Blankenship and one daughter, Paula Blankenship.

He was a US Navy Veteran of WWII.

He is survived by one son, Victor A. Blankenship and wife Mitze of Dallas; one brother, Tommy Blankenship of Sylva; four grandchildren, Jes-sica Hinson and husband Joseph, Victoria Kiser and husband Bryan, Brent Blankenship and wife Laura, Lindsay Roberts and husband Jonathon and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial graveside service to celebrate the life of Mr. Blankenship will be held 1 p.m. Friday at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery with Pastor Ritchie Doss officiating.
