GASTONIA - Pauline Merrill Vanderford, 78, passed away June 24, 2012.
Pauline was born Aug. 3, 1933, to the late Rush Merrill and Mattie Davis Merrill in Tupelo, Miss.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, William Vanderford, Sr.; sister, Christine Ledford; and brothers Rush Merrill, Jr. and Frank Merrill.
Pauline was a member of Flint Groves Baptist Church. She retired from Harris Teeter in the Deli Department.
Survivors include her son, William Vanderford, Jr. and wife Cathy and daughter, Teresa Gault and husband Eddie and grandchildren,
Shane Elks, BJ Vanderford and Jordan Vanderford, sisters, Pat Reneau and Helen Robertson, brothers, JM Merrill and Jack Merrill.
The family would like to say thanks to a very special friend and caregiver Bryan Rife.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Founders Chapel of McLean Funeral Directors with the Rev. Eddie Sayetta officiating.
Interment will follow in Gaston Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Flint Groves Baptist Church, Next Step Fund, 2017 E. Ozark Ave., Gastonia, NC 28054.
