GASTONIA - Rebecca "Becky" Williams, 67, passed away June 16, 2012, at Gaston Memorial Hospital.
She was born May 3, 1945, in Gaston County.
Becky was a loving mother, grandmother, friend, inspiration to all she knew, and never met a stranger. She was a member of Long Creek Memorial Baptist Church, active participant in Relay for Life, Bessemer City and Co-chair for the Long Creek Kids Fishing Tournament. Mrs. Williams was retired from Homelite. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Weerakoon, Dr. Thompson and their staff.
A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday at Long Creek Memorial Baptist Church, Dallas, officiated by the Rev. Jim Shaw.
The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Road, Gastonia.
Interment will be at Armstrong Cemetery, Gastonia.
She is survived by: her husband, Carl "Eddie" Williams; stepsons, Eddie Williams Jr., Jeff Williams and wife, Matrice; stepdaughter, Holly Williams and husband, Steve; stepbrother, Donald Rowland and wife, Peggy; special friends, Tina and Scott Moose, Jim and Sandra Burgin; beloved pet poodle, Summer; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bob Burgess; her mother and step-father, Evelyn Seagle and L.F. Rowland.
