IRON STATION - Graveside service with military honors for Richard Steven Poole, 67, was held 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, in
Fort Jackson Na-tional Cemetery.

Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, Columbia, S.C., is assisting the family.

Mr. Poole died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012. Born in Charlotte, he was a son of the late Lawrence Richard and Bobbie Bumgardner
Poole. A U.S. Army vet-eran of the Vietnam War, he was employed by the N.C. Department of Transportation and was owner of a logging and timber company.

Surviving are his children, Shane Poole (Jessica) of Stanley, Stephanie Phillips (Christopher) of Lincolnton, Sherry Taylor of Stanley, David Pope of Iron Station; five grandchildren, Matthew Poole, Gavin Phillips, Shelby Poole, Dillon Taylor, Natalie Pope; and a brother, Donald Poole (Linda) of Iron Sta-tion. He was predeceased by his wife, Blanche Dellinger Poole and a brother, Ronald Poole.
