GASTONIA - Robert Alexander "Bob" Spencer, 84, passed away peacefully at Carillion Assisted Living, Cramerton.

He was a native of Gaston County, born Nov. 25, 1928, to the late Elmer and Eleanor Alexander Spencer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Thelma Hoffman, Iris Willcox and Margaret Dutton.
Bob was a member of the Bradley Memorial United Methodist Church.
He had retired at the age of 55 from Duke Power with over 35 years of service: after retiring he enjoyed working in his garden, and growing tomatoes. Bob and Faye also enjoyed traveling. He also was a big fan of NASCAR, often going to many races. He enjoyed his life spending many hours in his shop.
Survivors include his wife of almost 63 years, Faye Marshall Spencer, a brother Lewis Spencer and wife Beatrice of Shelby, sister Jean Hudspeth of Clover, SC; Numerous nieces and nephews
A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Eric Reece officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Private interment will follows at Pisgah ARP Cemetery
