CHARLOTTE - Ruth Eula Greene Ballard, 87, formerly of Belmont, passed away Thursday, at CMC-Pineville.

She was the wife to the late Rupert Ballard and daughter to the late Roscoe and Jennie Buchanan Greene.
Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who also was loved by many. She will be deeply missed.
Ruth was a founding member of the Homemaker's Sunday School Class at Park Street United Methodist Church. She retired from PYA after 18 years of service with perfect attendance. Ruth was an avid reader and a die-hard Braves fan.
Survivors include her loving son, Larry Ballard and wife, Lisa, of Charlotte; grandchildren, Gary Wright and wife, Jennifer, Kerby Wilson Ballard and Suzannah Ruth "Anna" Ballard; great-grandchildren, Channing and Madelyn Wright; brother, Paul Greene; sister-at-heart, Willie Mae Roberts; and sister-in-law, Christeen Greene.
Celebration of Life service will be 3 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2013, at Park Street United Methodist Church with Pastor Gary Richardson officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the church's Family Life Center.
Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
In addition to her husband and parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathie Lynn Hanna; brother, Joe Greene; and sister-in-law, Peggy Greene.
