BELMONT - Samuel Glenn Cook Sr., 62, a native of Gaston County, went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Jan. 3, 2013.

He was born June 27, 1950, son of the late William Harold and Mildred Pearl Jones Cook.

A constant rock for his family and friends, Glenn was a loving, dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother and a good friend to many. Glenn was truly loved by all who knew him and now Heaven is blessed with his spirit. He was an avid fisherman and loved to narrate his fishing quests. Glenn will be greatly missed, especially by his family.

A private memorial service will be held at South Point Baptist Church, officiated by the Dr. James Helton.

He is survived by: his beloved wife of 40 years, Gisela Cook; an amazing father to his two daughters, Siglinde Bradley and her husband Darren, Korina Hammon and her husband, Phillip, and son, Samuel Glenn Cook II and his wife Ashley; proud grandfather of Dalton and Heidi Ewing, Savannah and Brianna Hammon, Cameron and Blakely Cook.

Memorials may be made to South Point Baptist Church, 124 Horsley Ave. or to East Belmont Church of God, 320 E Catawba St., both located in Belmont, NC 28012.
