GASTONIA - Thelma Sawyer Easler, 96, formerly of Gastonia, passed away July 8, 2018 at Stanley Total Living Center.

Thelma was born in Graham County, daughter of the late Albert Theodore and Ida Cable Sawyer. In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Easler; brothers, Lester and Earl Sawyer, and sisters, Edna Garland and Vida Crisp.

Thelma was retired from TiCaro and was a member of West Cramerton Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son, James Donald Easler and wife Stephanie; daughter, Pamela E. Robertson and husband Dan; sister, Joyce Hardin; grandchildren, Dawn Moss, John Easler, Sandie Goyette, Andrea Easler; 7 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Gaston Memorial Park with Rev. Mike Ivey officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
