Trilby Mae Adkins, 91, passed away on Monday, Dec. 31, 2012 at her home.

A native of Gaston County, she was a daughter of the late Jefferson Leroy and LeAnna Tucker Gilbert.
Trilby was a long-time and faithful member of Message of Love church. She retired from the Linford Mill with more than 44 years of service. She loved to spend time with her family and friends, which were many.
She is survived by her sons, Danny Lee Adkins and wife, Kimberly, of Gastonia, and Elbert Burl Adkins and wife, June, of Belmont; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 69 years, Ernest Neil Adkins; daughter, Linda Kay Hendren; son, Larry Neil Adkins; five brothers; one sister; one grandson; and one great-granddaughter.
A service celebrating Trilby's life will be held at noon, Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at Message of Love Church, 306 Pearl Beatty Road, Belmont, with the Revs. Jeffrey Johnson and Frankie Sneed officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at the church.
Interment will be in Hill-crest Gardens.
