CLOVER, S.C. - Truman L. Bitzel, 70, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on June 21, 2012, at Magnolia Manor, Rock Hill, S.C.

He was born April 8, 1942, in Wabash, Ind., son of the late Orval L. and Marcella Cox Bitzel.

Mr. Bitzel was a member of Zion Baptist Church, Gastonia. He was retired from Wix/Dana Corp. after 36 years of service.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at Zion Baptist Church, Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. Leo Kuykendall.

The family will receive friends 6 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.

Interment will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens, Filbert Hwy, Clover, S.C.

He is survived by: his wife of 51 years, Carol Burton Bitzel of the home; sons, Terry L. Bitzel and wife, Sally of Wabash, Indiana, Jerry L. Bitzel of Clover, S.C.; grandchildren, Justin Bitzel, Amanda Pinkerton and husband, Brandon, Samantha Eason; great-grandchildren, James, Gracie and Kaystin.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: a brother, Alvin L. Bitzel.
